Iron Chic - Venue Change

Unfortunately due to circumstances totally out of our control, we've had to move this from the Skatepark to Monkey, we're as bummed as you are that we don't get to have a sweet gig in the park and we'll be playing 'I wanna go skateboarding' by Ssssnakes on repeat in between bands, but we just can't do it.

However, the good new is:

1. We were 12 tickets off selling out before, Monkey is way bigger and you'll be able to pay on the night now. It'll be £6 on the door, but there are still £5 tickets available from Diverse Records in Newport, Exist Skateboards in Swansea, Derricks in Swansea or the SWFU Online shop if you wanna save yourself a quid:
http://swfu.bigcartel.com/product/iron-chic-banger-+-more-tickets

2. It was looking incredibly likely that the Skatepark would've been a dry venue. That's right, NO BOOZE! So I'm sure lots of you will be happy to know that you're more than welcome to get hammered at Monkey. Mine's a Hoegaarden.

We'll be putting posters up at the Skatepark directing people to Monkey, but if you could report the event and let people know of the venue change that'd be awesome.

See you wednesday!

The Usual!

Our usual neglect of the blog, ha, were useless. No that's a lie, were all super busy with work, bands, drinking, so how can you blame us for a little neglect! So things that have been going on, last friday we had thos fine chaps The Computers from exeter come play for us. Support was from Men and Ringolevio. The show was @ Mozarts, great turn out, great night.
The Computers was great as usual, possibly louder than anything i've ever heard in that small bar!
Men drove a whole long way for this, super tight, super good, you should check them out! Swansea's very own Ringolevio opened the show, a lot of people wrote them off, but i think they were proved wrong on this night, new songs were awesome, can't wait to hear their new cd!
The lovely lady that is Carly Davies slapped up another treat of a poster for us, have a look on our myspace!

Time For an Update!!

Well hello,

sorry for the lack of updates of late, we've all been really busy, and I have managed to neglect our blog. Since the last time we updated the amazing Chuck Ragan has been and rocked the boat for us!! Definitely one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! Also thanks go to The Arteries, Bangers, and Livers and Lungs for bringing the rock!!!!

Next we had the wonderful PJ Bond from New Jersey play for us, good to see him again, if you ain't got his record yet, wise up and get it!

Support came from the lovely Adam(Peachfuzz)/IOLO, and Swansea's newest punk rock foursome Dividers playing their first acoustic set! Cheers to everyone who came down, it was another fun show, and thanks to everyone at Mozart's for helping to make this happen!!

We had a bit of a nightmare with the next show as the venue had to pull out at the last minute, but luckily the boys @ SIGMA let us open up the doors to their fine establishment to let the ONSIND, IMPERIAL CAN, FASHNU, AND THE SYMPTOMS in. For me the Symptoms were the band of the night, Fashnu were cool, IMPERIAL CAN were a massive let down for me, but people seemed to be into it! ONSIND were as good as ever, can't find a fault with them!

We then had a last minute offer to put NINJA GUN on. Ninja Gun played a great set, and although it wasn't the busiest being a last minute show, both the bands and crowd seemed to have a good time! For this show locals TheKidisfireworks were supporting, playing a super tight set!

Last, but not least, definitely one of the best shows this year. The radtastic Failure's Union, last time I saw these guys was at the pre-fest show in Tampa, but this time was definitely the best I've seen them, playing all their classic tunes, ha! Bedford Fall's, the 255's and the Boneless One's made up the support, with the Boneless Ones showing that old guys can still bring the rock.

The next show we have booked is Wednesday 4th August - Good Luck (US), The Arteries, Bangers & some tbc. @ Sigma. We're in the process of booking a show in June and one in July, but we'll keep you all in the loop once we get it all sorted...

Catch you soon!

Git Some @ Coyote Bar with support TBC!

GIT SOME (Feat. ex members of PLANES MISTAKEN FOR STARS!)
(Denver, Usa / 1234 Go Records)
http://www.myspace.com/fuckengitsome
http://www.myspace.com/1234gorecords

Coyote Bar, Thursday 27th November 2008

Despite being around for only 4 years, these guys are already well known for being relentless touring machines and playing amazing yet extremely intense shows. This non-stop touring is in the blood for Git Some. Whether it's Kingdom Of Magic, White Dynamite or 2/4 of Planes Mistaken For Stars - each member has been around the block when it comes to putting on an amazing rock show!!

GIT SOME is a band from Denver, Colorado consisting of 4 dudes who grew up on 80's punk rock, Reagan-era America, and shitty weed, discharging cathartic bursts of noise that shatter angst and inhibitions. Cosmic rock, by way of wild abandon, loud-ass guitar, bass and drums, and an explosive singer. It's all the good things about hardcore stripped of the agenda, all the great things about metal and hard rock stripped of the unnecessary machismo.

So yeah, there is the blurb. They are actually fucking great though. We'll be sorting out supports soon, in the meantime, check out the tracks on the MySpace and a sweet tour poster and picture!

Cheers
